Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
Isa 6:9 He said, “Go and tell this people:
“ ‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding;
be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’
Isa 6:10 Make the heart of this people calloused;
make their ears dull
and close their eyes.[fn1]
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts,
and turn and be healed.”
As I read this passage in my daily reading this morning the image of my cousin's toddler running for the end of the dock at camp came to mind. How many times as parents have we chased one so young toward danger wishing they would turn and let us scoop them up and keep them safe?
Are you running from God? Do you know that if you stop and turn he will scoop you up and will give you something better than what you were running to? Try it and see that the Lord is good.
